A look at the state of elections in Illinois, and how #RankedChoiceVoting could fix it all.

(The same concept applies to many states, and to Republican-leaning areas as well as Democratic ones.)

Hey Illinois, contact your state senator and rep now and tell them to support SB2004!

@Crell when i can finally save up enough money to ghost texas, ranked choice is one of the criteria on choosing where to go next, for sure.
@Crell it's very telling that RCV has been banned by a bunch of red state legislatures (and no blue ones), and that the utterly evil voting laws the Republicans are trying to pass in Congress (SAVE, MEGA) include a nationwide ban on RCV.

@dirtside Which is bonkers, since RCV is non-partisan. It doesn't favor either party or ideology.

But it does favor actual majorities, not gerrymandered fake majorities used to suppress the will of the voter. Hence, the GOP opposes it, because the GOP is monarchical.

@Crell Yep. I've also seen it expressed that RCV rewards candidates who have both broad mild support *and* a fervent core.
@dirtside Yep. And MAGA has only the core.
