The Epstein files just claimed the executive who interviewed Trump at Davos

A month ago, Børge Brende interviewed US President Donald Trump after his address to global leaders in Davos, Switzerland. On Thursday, the CEO of the World Economic Forum announced he was stepping down following an independent investigation into his relationship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a statement earlier this month, after the #WEF launched its probe, #BørgeBrende said he had been “completely unaware of Epstein’s past & criminal activities” & would not have communicated or attended dinners with him had he known. “I recognize that I could have conducted a more thorough investigation into Epstein’s history, & I regret not doing so,” he added.

There was no indication #BørgeBrende engaged in wrongdoing, but he joins a growing slate of business leaders & others who have had their careers derailed by revelations contained in the #EpsteinFiles, published by the US #DOJ in late December after #Congress passed a #law forcing the release.

In the #WEF statement Thursday, the forum’s co-chairs Larry Fink & Andre Hoffmann thanked #BørgeBrende for his “significant contributions” to the organization.

They also said the independent review into Brende’s ties with #Epstein had now concluded & that no “additional concerns beyond what has been previously disclosed” were identified.
