My #LoRa #Meshtastic device (#HeltecV3 ESP32) doesn’t last long enough, ~7 hours (no TX, display off, no sensors), that’s why i was considering getting a #HeltecT114, but supply seems low.

Maybe they are working on a new version?

@thiccpaws It might be worth looking at other nrf52 based boards, like RAK Wisblock. nrf52 boards use significantly less power than ESP32 boards.

For my MeshCore companion node, I use a T1000-E tracker card, which is nrf52 based, and it easily gets over a day of runtime, while being super compact.

Heltec V4 apparently has the transmit power advantage though.

@bedast Yeah… I know it’s silly but I really wanted to use Muzi Work’s H2T case (https://www.printables.com/model/982046-h2t-case-for-heltec-t114-with-gps-running-meshtast/remixes)

@thiccpaws Not silly at all. I think the T114 and V3/V4 have some of the best case options for portable carry.

@bedast compact enough to fit in my palm, and modular enough to swap aerials or add sensors.

I’d get a RAK for a repeater, but I’ve been looking and it’s not needed in my area. And I like the T1000 but I dislike the charging dock thing — my watch uses the same system and half the time it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.

@thiccpaws
I just ordered the #T114 directly from Heltec.org

Shipped same day, and received it here in France in about a week

All good

@Minty95 oh really? No import fees?
@thiccpaws Sorry didn't see you post, No import fees
@Minty95 Thanks. I really want to buy it, but I've been crunching numbers and I don't think it'd be a sensible decision.
