Finished #SerialExperimentsLain a while ago, thinking of watching #Pluto next!

I think it’s wild how Lain anticipated the psychological weight of a hyper-connected modern world. The retro-futuristic depiction of computers makes the art even more striking to watch.

I loved how concepts like the Wired and the Psyche chip feel similar to modern-day #Internet and #VR tech, especially with devices like the Vision Pro and #Meta's smart glasses becoming more common.

I also loved its portrayal of fragmented identity and distorted perception, and how that affected the plot, making it a bit of an open-ended mystery throughout the process of watching it.

Haven’t checked out the #PS1 game yet since it’s more of a time commitment, but I might get to it eventually.

I prefer PSX Lain over the anime. Completely different story.

@neet I checked out the WebGL game online, but it seemed like it'd be quite a bit of commitment with all the files one needs to find.

I read The Nightmare of Fabrication though, so I guess I'll have to give the game a shot someday.

It absolutely is a commitment and chaotic to navigate. I prefer the simplified version https://laingame.net/index.php?site=0#l4
