Hey friends, I decided time's well overdue for me to finally play the original #Castlevania games in order.

I am an outspoken lore nerd and I love the franchise, backstory and ofc. the iconic music.

Question being: best way to do this?

I could go for emulators, or even see if my Analog Pocket supports all the required platforms.

Or I could opt for the #CastlevaniaAnniversaryCollection on my Switch, which hopefully would get a similar if not as vintage experience..

Thoughts?

@heals The modern Castlevania collections were handled by M2, so the emulation is as solid as I've seen from a commercial product.

I think it's absolutely a valid choice.

@jenny753 that's a relief to hear - I was fully prepared to blow up my old CRT TV that hasn't been on for decades just to get that original pixel bleed xD
@heals Ahhh that's the one thing I would want. A real CRT filter. All they have here is no filter or really awful scanlines.

@jenny753 it's a lost art - I've never seen any filter that would come close to the look and feel (and side-effects) of an actual CRT.

Main issue in most cases was that some kid or other was hellbent to create one (in that case it was ReShade and for FFXI) but they never had seen a real CRT TV display the game to begin with :|
