Some people are hoarders of things, I hoard links and news.

'BiPartisanship' has been such a fraudulent concept for generations of American politics โ€“ but **THIS** marriage could actually have a positive impact.

People are talking about them both running for President, Republican and Democratic tickets, somehow running together after the primaries if they succeed.

Running together would rip apart the Dem/Repub idiotic American political spectrum.

It might be a good thing. (Y)

Jesse Jackson was the first (almost) mainstream American politician that tried to bring Palestinian human rights into that mainstream of American politics. He failed at that, but AOC, Tliab and Omar and Bernie could never have gotten where they are today without him paving the way. This only shows how rigid and Zionist American politics is and has been for a long time.

@jd Exactly right, Jesse Jackson opened the door to a future that wouldnโ€™t have been possible without him. The path he paved reminds us how rigid and biased American politics has been, but thanks to him, Palestinian voices began to find space in U.S. politics. Respect to everyone who paves the way for justice, even if they donโ€™t succeed on their own.

#PostOfTheWeek (season 3):
The Rev Jesse Jackson (American civil rights activist), the civil rights campaigner who was prominent for more than 50 years and who ran strongly for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988, has died. He was 84.

โ€œOur father was a servant leader โ€“ not only to our family, but to the oppressed, the voiceless, and the overlooked around the world,โ€ the Jackson family said in a statement.

@nada_eid_88
โ€œWe shared him with the world, and in return, the world became part of our extended family. His unwavering belief in justice, equality, and love uplifted millions, and we ask you to honor his memory by continuing the fight for the values he lived by.No cause of death was given.

Jackson had had progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) for more than a decade. He was originally diagnosed with Parkinsonโ€™s disease. He was also twice hospitalised with Covid in recent years.

A fixture in the civil rights movement and Democratic politics since the 1960s, Jackson was once close to Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

In an interview with the Guardian in May 2020, Jackson said: โ€œI was a trailblazer, I was a pathfinder. I had to deal with doubt and cynicism and fears about a Black person running. There were Black scholars writing papers about why I was wasting my time. Even Blacks said a Black couldnโ€™t win.โ€

@nada_eid_88
Twenty years after his second run for president, the first Black president, Barack Obama, saluted Jackson for making his victory possible. Obama celebrated in Chicago, also home to Jackson.

RIP, Rev. Jackson...

Jeremy Scahill TELLS ALL: BlackWater, Israel, Cheneys, 2024 Election

David Hembrow (@[email protected])

Attached: 2 images Photos from last Thursday and this evening of the weekly protest for Gaza at Assen railway station. Last week we were pot banging, as we do most weeks. This week we listened in silence as names of Palestinians killed by the Israelis were read out. Each name is read out with the age of the deceased. In one hour we had time only for a small fraction of the dead. There's time to remember only a few hundred out of the tens of thousands who have been killed. Clearly many people were touched by the message, especially when they heard the names of young children. Many people took leaflets. Hopefully many of them will at the very least be prepared to join the boycott of Israeli goods. Who wouldn't be affected by the murder of infants ? #potbangingforgaza #assen #bds #boycottisrael #israeliWarCrimes #palestine #gaza
