This perennial herb in the pea family goes by many, many common names: Coues Senna (not a typo), Cove Senna, Coves Cassia, Dais, Desert Senna, Rattlebox, Rattleweed! One pea pod is visible in the photo. When dried, the seeds in it will rattle.
