Tunnel Vision ⚡

I've done more street photography in the past couple of days than I think I ever have 😂. I hope it's not too boring! When the weather is better and the plants start growing we'll have more variety! ✨

I’m digging it. Genuinely my favorite type of photos. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Ah thank you! Glad you like them! 🥹✨
The mood that the light and colour sets is very nice.
Thanks so much! I was going for a kind of "grungy" look✨
You’ve got a knack for it, looks like!
Street photography is intimidating for me because I’m afraid of confrontation like if someone says “Hey! Why are you photographing me!?” I’d just be like 🏃
@FlashF1R3 I’ve only ever done it with a phone so far, which I imagine is less conspicuous than a camera. I try to stay far enough away that I could plausibly be taking a picture that isn’t focused on them, and I can quickly change my posture so that I look like I’m taking a selfie or directing my attention at something above or behind them — it’s all about plausible deniability 😅
@FlashF1R3 But yeah, I still struggle with it too. I tend to focus on people’s forms rather than faces, which feels too much like an invasion of privacy. I’d love to learn how experienced street photographers navigate the ethics and their own comfort with it.
@bluejay@ohai.social I’ve watched a few videos on it. Some of the most famous ones really didn’t consider ethics. (Bruce Gilden) but there is a nuance to doing it under the radar, or hidden in plain sight. Waist level viewfinders, fiddling with camera settings, etc.
@FlashF1R3 There’s a YouTube channel I like called “Imitative Photography” and this guy goes around on photo walks with a particular style from a famous photographer in mind, in each video. It’s a good way to get inspired or learn about different famous photographers’ styles.
Thank you!! 😭 My philosophy is to have a zoom lens so I don't have to be too near and also not have them too recognizable! Because they are people and deserve privacy. So shadows, shots of their backs or sometimes I will go in and literally change their faces or the colours of their clothes! ✨
Not even god could make this boring. Thank you
Thanks so much! 🥹✨
