I … I think I fell into a hole.

Said hole seems to be #XML + #XSLT shaped.

XSLT’s ability to translate XML into #HTML and / or plain text … is — in a word —AMAZING to me.

Combine #XPath selection and … WOW!

I feel like this is going to be a game changer for some things that I do. Similar to #regularExpressions were 25+ years ago.

Removing XSLT for a more secure browser  |  Web Platform  |  Chrome for Developers

Prepare for Chrome deprecating and removing XSLT from the browser.

Chrome for Developers

@bingocaller I’m aware and disappointed by that.

But none of my previous comment was actually about the browser. 😉

@drscriptt Ah, I see. Sorry for assuming! 😅

@bingocaller it’s cool.

I’ve got things working in Firefox but was disappointed to learn that chrome and safari don’t support XML / XSLT any more.

Hence why I explicitly didn’t mention web.

So you were close. 😉

@drscriptt Symphony CMS (RIP)

@animaux I don’t know that I ever used Symphony CMD.

I did use Simphony IM (XMPP under the hood) and I do miss that.

@drscriptt That’s not related. Symphony did/does exactly what you describe. Sadly it’s dead for some years, though I still have quite a few patched sites still working with it. https://www.getsymphony.com/learn/articles/view/html-ninja-technique/
