johnny anhedonic@Spoon it's all they can do. they are incapable of addressing problems in a meaningful way, because the solutions are not considered possible for ideological reasons. so all they're left with is doing performative cruelty, and they'll never be as good at it as other parties for whom the cruelty is a major part platform.
