@georgetakei
Perhaps surprisingly, I've even had abuse on *here* when i said something sympathetic to tourette's sufferers.

i think that might actually be the first time i've had to deal with flat out abuse on the fediverse. (it's fine, just swearing; i blocked the guy.)

People absolutely should watch any one of the 3 BBC documentaries about this extraordinarily kind man before they jump to judgement and pile on him. He’d have no problems apologizing for that particular tic. He hates ticcing and it’s made his life very difficult (the subject of the documentaries). He provides support for others who feel outcast and isolated by their tourette’s.

I also think were he to do so publicly, it would be very valuable for them to also acknowledge and embrace his tics.

@georgetakei Blaming the poor man with Tourette’s is appalling and unwarranted. I blame the BBC for broadcasting the outburst despite the programme having a two hour delay. It could have been edited out but wasn’t - why?
@benjamincox @georgetakei they edited out a pro #palestine comment per @democracynow this morning
