Can someone really smart explain to me why when looking into water from a boat you always have light reflections that centre around where you stand, no matter where you stand? It's always fascinated me. That's my shadow in the water. Notice how the light rays look similar to an iris around my head.

@thesailordev that would be a nice question for stackexchange ;)
@PypeBros I thought StackExchange was just for tech related things?

@thesailordev actually, it's for any question/answer thing. https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/506181/how-do-you-do-vs-hello for "how to use the English language", https://worldbuilding.stackexchange.com/questions/272749/could-horns-function-as-a-respiratory-organ for "how do I build my parallel universe", etc.

I guess https://physics.stackexchange.com/ would be the right for your question.

If you look at those little bubbles on the right of pages, they propose hot questions from other communities.

@PypeBros Well that's good to know. Thanks for letting me know

The sun is directly behind your head, so any shadows will seem to originate from there as well. You can get the same effect by looking at your own shadow in a patch of grass :)
@gufo @studioumluft That's interesting. I was thinking to myself that it does usually only happen at the sun's highest point. So you might be right
