Tried out #Stoat as a possible replacement for #Discord today. Voice chat quality was miles better. Crystal clear sounds. Hope they implement screen sharing soon, but this is a good start

Edit: running a game at the same time as a voice chat worked perfectly as well. They didn't hate each other unlike Discord that bitches all the time when sharing space with a game lol

@Fragglemuppet @lowrah not sure what you mean with groups 🙈 it looks and works almost exactly like Discord. You create an account and then get suggestions for already existing servers to join or to create your own. My friend quickly and easily created a server for the both of us. Only problem was that it didn't turn up in my search, but they sent me a link and I could join their server immediately. And then it looks like Discord. You can create channels for topics and voice channels and start chatting. Hope that answers your question? 😅

@DrJLecter @lowrah Right. I meant like servers that can handle groups, like fan groups and such. Sounds like you can.

@Fragglemuppet @lowrah yepp! It's a very close copy to what Discord can do. It's still in beta and functions like screen sharing are coming soon. My friend had problems connecting their headphones using the app but had no problems on the web, so there are still bugs, but first look was very promising 😄

@Fragglemuppet @lowrah maybe that's something that will come later. I can't check atm, cos pc is switched off and I haven't installed it everywhere. Could be that they don't have it on their radar that it's needed though and someone needs to tell them first.

@DrJLecter @Fragglemuppet I just created an account on the web app and I didn't see a text captcha either, but there is an “accessibility cookie” option that's supposed to let you bypass the visual challenge. I have no idea how those work, though, so I'm not sure how helpful that is.
