AI agents didn't make the SDLC faster. They killed it. All that's left is context.

@bjoernd well, the author assumes that agents are actually doing decent work at every stage. I don't think so. Their quality is improving, but pretty much every step requires overseeing.

I agree, that instead of writing billions of scripts/jenkins jobs and tests, agents to that. Very true. And they ofc simplify the design part. But there are more things in SDLC that require quality control, which is unachievable with the current states of LLMs.

So I'll be skeptical until I see a real big project where an engineer wouldn't be required at pretty much every step.

So SDLC is not dead, but is gonna be transformed and simplified, that I agree. And the whole cycle will be shorter now, which is, em, good??...

@p13l13d13 It's an extreme oversimplification. But I'm optimistic we might finally be in reach for the death of the waterfall model 😁
