I've started stripping my #discord to bare bones now - just the general chat and gaming stuff.

Always remember when creating yourself on a presence on someone else's social media servers you are temporary. You are just a number getting fed ads and topping up their bottom line.

All my personal stuff is now on #mastodon and the #fediverse and to be honest; I love it this way.

"You hardly post on Instagram anymore" was a comment I received a few weeks ago.

"I don't share my photos with AI algorithms" was my response.

@nomenloony On the rare occasion that I do have to log into #instagram, I don't feel like I am interacting with people. The toxic algorithm, however, is quite palpable.

That platform is quite clearly engineered to keep you on it for as long as possible. Unfortunately there are many accounts whose content is valuable.

@nomenloony I am researching Stoat as a Discord alternative. The UI looks somewhat similar.
