Made these chocolate pastry things on a whim. I made vanilla bean pastry cream to go with but didn't really make the right kind of thing to easily fill. Gonna just split and fill like layers I think.

Btw, these were just made using store bought pastry dough. Rolled out thinner and then mixed ~180g chocolate with about 2 tablespoons of butter and melted together, then spread thin over the pastry and rolled it up with some gaps on the end.

Not what I'd do next time, still tasty!

The pastry cream was delicious but takes 6 egg yolks to make a typical batch with 2.5c of milk. I think I'm going to try making this with oat milk and corn starch and butter for the finishing richness to try and make a more pudding-y thing with the same flavor.
