A foodie friend gave me the "White Trash Cooking" cookbook, and it was what made me see that I really could cook. When I tried to make gravy for the first time, I realized that I knew what it was supposed to look like at different stages, but I didn't know how to get there. It became my go-to cookbook because I was able to draw upon images seared into my memory from childhood. I was able to make biscuits and gravy for my stepdad before he died, and that made him so happy.
Blast from the past.
When the BBC was rebooting Doctor Who, they sent former Doctors and artifacts on tour in the USA. For instance, the 3rd Doctor's wheels, Bessie.
I was on the local committee for the mid-week stop in Augusta GA and Third is My Doctor. So we were putting together gifts for Mr. & Mrs. Pertwee, and I shared that she writes cookbooks.
Several people suggested "Tea Time at the Masters" and I suggested "White Trash Cooking".
After a Q&A and autographing session. we presented our gifts to Mr. Pertwee.
Tea Time at the Masters - thank you so much.
White Trash Cooking - that's the one we've been looking for!
