One thing I like about this album by #BadBunny is that, while the music composition is recognizably traditional (and takes me back to my days of working restaurant kitchens haha), the instrumentation is digitized in really interesting ways. Using a synthesizer for what would normally be a tuba, Autotune vocal shenanigans, etc. Really fun & fresh :)
Not that he’s the first to do this or anything. You wouldn’t believe what Latin America has done with chiptune, for years now, for example. But him being one of the biggest artists in the world gives it a new salience.
Btw I got this roller shelf to help me queue up records to play, and I really like it! Makes me feel a bit like I’m in a record store, and since the selection is always rotating, it adds fresh visual interest to the room :)
