i'd forgotten commodore stuff used carriage return instead of line feed (like old mac os)
was just reading an assembly listing for a machine code monitor that i had to un-gzip, uudecode (it was a file i downloaded from gopherspace that was originally from usenet), uncompress, and then run through 'tr' to get it into a readable format

@wyatt Apple II, Apple IIGS, and Macintosh stuff pre-OS X also uses carriage return ($0D) as a newline.
