Doing a class with a bunch of wonderful medieval manuscripts, but one of the rarest and most interesting has no text, because it was a model book for illuminators to copy from.
@overholt This is why #AltText is so important for everyone. I have good vision and missed the important thing about this image!
@overholt Apparently, shooting people in the butt was not an uncommon practice in those days.

@overholt

I was busy admiring the gold work, and completely missed the archer, never mind the target. 🎯 And this, girls and boys, is why alts are so important. 😁

@overholt I presume that's how they commemorated Valentine's Day in the Middle Ages.
@overholt Beautifu! Did you get a chance to see the manuscript exhibition at the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum a few years ago? It was lovely!
@Caseydunham I did, and it was. It was a collaborative exhibition across Boston and we had part of it here at Houghton as well.
@overholt amazing, will have to stop into the Houghton soon! Just haven't made it happen yet.
@overholt omg want a million of these as tattoooos
@overholt that is so sick, has that manuscript been digitized at all? Or do you know any similar ones that have?

@overholt I love this stuff, because I swear the art directors and designers for Kingdom Come Deliverance (1 & 2) spent a lot of time looking at this stuff.

I just finished the story, and these kinds of depictions adorn the menus, maps, etc, in-game, and really transport you to 15th century Bohemia

@overholt I would love to follow such a class. Manuscripts are so much more than text.
@overholt Those are amazing.
