or Black [People] in general do it, it’s strategy?
The idea that Black [Women] speaking to each other in diverse spaces equals a “coalition” says more about perception than reality.
Sometimes it’s just comfort.
Sometimes it’s just culture.
Sometimes it’s just, “hey girl.”

we were because of the ways we showed up for each other. “I love that you had a pact,” she said. Nope. That’s just how we roll— unspoken communication and community tha is literally “hey girl” all the way to “Oh hell no.”

Exactly! Not a pact. Not a coalition.
It’s recognition. It’s comfort. It’s community.
And don’t mistake us for blindly loyal — when we say “I got you,” that includes accountability when warranted.
