Messier 45, The Pleiades, also known as the "Seven Sisters," is a prominent open star cluster in the constellation Taurus, visible to the naked eye as a small, misty dipper-like pattern of stars. It's one of the closest star clusters to Earth, containing over 1,000 stars, though typically only six or seven are easily seen, leading to myths about a "lost Pleiad". The cluster is part of a larger stellar complex and has been significant in cultures worldwide since antiquity, appearing in ancient texts and art like the Nebra Sky Disk. -per Google

For me, it’s one of the most easily recognizable sky objects to see with the naked eye alone. Since I learned about the ancient fable of Orion chasing them across the sky it’s not hard to find Orion’s constellation not too far away from them. Some people say it’s one of the oldest stories known to humankind, and it’s a reminder to me that the ancient peoples were connected to the night sky in a way most of us are oblivious to, save the astronomers. It was a storybook, a map, and a navigational beacon.

@FlashF1R3 😍😍 Just fantastic! I feel your second paragraph, and I mourn our lost connection to the night sky.
