During the Edo period, it received over 2,000 koku of stamps from the shogunate and flourished as one of the largest temples in the Tohoku region. Cultural properties that trace the flow of #Kyoto's aristocratic culture, such as treasures from the late #Heian period to the Muromachi period, rival those of Hiraizumi Chuson-ji.
