@JPummil

add "eliminate qualified immunity for all law enforcement" and i'd say you have a complete list of needs.

@JPummil @paul_ipv6 yeah, it’s inane how much we let the cop type of bastard get away with

bonus points for putting “overturn Citizens United” first tho
@paul_ipv6 @JPummil Good start, nowhere near complete. Nothing about reforming SCOTUS beyond term limits ( need expanded). Nothing on Healthcare, etc

@shsbxheb @JPummil

not complete but complete for a first start.

once we actually have a functioning 3 branch government, i'd add these (and probably a lot more):

- mandatory term limits at the federal, same for all 50 states
- universal basic income
- complete gut of the seniority system of committee assignment in congress
- reinstate the idea of domain expertise in federal departments
- protection of federal agencies from direct exec branch interference
- review of the entire constitution and the gaps that depended on good faith that got us where we are now

@paul_ipv6 @JPummil also "eliminate cash bail and the carceral slavery system"
@JPummil
"Taxing Mega Churches" might be difficult b/c then you find yourself having to define "what qualifies as a Mega-church".
@MugsysRapSheet @JPummil just tax them all then.
@MugsysRapSheet @JPummil fair. tax all churches is much better
@JPummil Technically 2029, but I get your drift.
@JPummil Sounds dope. Now, is there a single politician anywhere in this country who is on board with all this?
@OGjester @JPummil that’s the problem, we the people are ready for this and meanwhile in Washington milksops like Hakeem Jeffries are “abolish ICE? I don’t even understand what you mean”
@Jeff Pummill I'd vote for that!

But I don't get to vote in the US in 2028. Just like every American, I'm afraid 😟

@JPummil

There's room to squeeze in end monopolies, although you can argue that's covered by the billionaire, and the unrealized gains elements

This is an excellent 2028 plan.

@JPummil add "prioritize people over cars"
@JPummil how about:
limits on presidential pardons
and
enforcing and clarifying emoluments clause
@JPummil one national voter law. Federal election, federal law.
@edgeofeurope @JPummil that's a project 2025 thing.
@dresstokilt @JPummil it may well be but it would be a good idea (obviously when written by normal people)
@edgeofeurope @JPummil if we had it right now half of us wouldn't be allowed to vote.
@[email protected] Baby steps to eliminating the electoral college: get states to stop making it winner takes all. Electoral college votes could be proportional to the state's popular vote. That would make it more representative without the smaller states feeling like they're giving up influence.
@JPummil "Liberal" types will vote for Jesus Dick or Pedo in Chief for his third term before they vote for any candidate running on this platform.
@JPummil ban arrest without trial, ban police without identification, ban police wearing face masks, reinstate recognition that burning fossil fuels causes pollution that is harmful to people all over the world.

@JPummil make DC the 51st state, and let Puerto Rico to choose if it wants to be the 52nd or independent.
@JPummil fascism cannot be voted away. It has never happened in history. Not even once.
@vex @JPummil
Fascists need the Mussolini cure.
@Quasit @JPummil no no no trust me we just need the right vision board /s

@JPummil it doesn't solve the main thing, education. Ignorance has been the greatest root cause.

Free College for ALL. Even if it is virtual/remote.

@JPummil
I'm always ambivalent about SCOTUS term limits. It's a high-knowledge professional job and those tend to benefit from long terms of service.

The court definitely needs to be expanded, and the appointment process needs an overhaul, so I'd be more inclined to start there.

@JPummil I don’t think that’s the right cap on congressional salary; it disadvantages representatives of poorer districts
@JPummil
Further thoughts:
• Peg congressional salaries to some function of federal minimum wage
• Civil and criminal fines and fees must be defined as a percentage of the offender's net worth
• Being convicted of bribing a government official, or of accepting a bribe as a government official, is an automatic capital offense
• Eliminate most executive powers, esp. any non-emergency-related domestic action (undocumented immigration is not an emergency)
@JPummil
Oh, and in addition to single-provider public healthcare, we really really need single-provider public legal counsel. No for-profit justice.
@JPummil a good start... Although nothing about the environment or energy wut?... Pretty strange given the gravity. I would add at the very least: transition to renewables, hold polluters accountable.
@JPummil A convicted felon cannot be elected president!
@freyjfreyj @JPummil and suddenly we'd have presidents railroading their political enemies just to keep them out of office.

@JPummil if it is not already in the list. Stop a president from ruling solely through decrees. This is just ridiculous.

Limit the amount in a given timeframe. Add a mandatory ratification time of 30 days - non extendable.

Restructure all checks and balances as they obviously don't work.

If the speaker of the house does not open the house he gets automatically replaced.

Representatives need to be in the house 90% of the time otherwise they get replaced.

@JPummil and stop using GenAI to make your friggin posters.
@JPummil I disagree with term limits for SCOTUS but I absolutely favor a mandatory retirement age for everyone holding elected or appointed office. Every 10 years during the census, calculate the average lifespan of Americans, and that's the retirement age. Congrats, you beat the odds. Go be old on your own time, not mine.
@JPummil those things look good but I would just settle for a simple thing that congress could do really quickly, which is expand the size of the house using the cube root "law" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cube_root_law
Cube root law - Wikipedia

@JPummil
You forgot
Repeal the PATRIOT ACT.
