Maha Shivratri is observed on Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of Phalguna to worship Lord Shiva.

It is linked to Shiva–Parvati’s marriage and Shiva’s Tandava. Spiritually, it symbolises overcoming darkness through discipline and devotion.
