poleguy looking for lost tools@doctormo a friend told me recently that my page on Facebook says I don't use Facebook and how to reach me via other means. I haven't been on Facebook in years, and then only for #ppprs.
I forgot I did that. Any "friends" I have there don't care that much for me to ever reach out.
If I had to engage today I might consider posting responses publicly to mastodon and only leaving links on Facebook. Do they block outbound links?
@doctormo I also challenge the honesty that people stay on Facebook because their friends and family are there. Most interactions are the passive doomscroll of commercially generated dopamine content, aren't they?
I posit that's why a friend leaving won't make them budge.
