I'm glad that one of my favorite intellectuals and AI researchers wrote an seemingly honest and enlightening text regarding his relationship with #Epstein. #joschabach #bengoertzel #Chomsky #AI

"I had a feeling that Epstein had a dark heart"

Interview with Sibylle Anderl, in the German Newspaper “Die Zeit”, February 12, 2026

Joscha Bach
Though it appears he indeed did write some disturbing shit. Very sad. https://techhub.social/@Raccoon/115592131219943544

@sigismundninja that text is insane.

”So he was a convicted pedophile but I though he had changed after the conviction or I’d have broken contact”

”Epstein seemed like a man without inhibitions or shame”

The combination of those two is WILD because the only possible conclusion is that this is someone who will offend again.

@sigismundninja to me this sounds like the ”I’m just a little baby and I was too trusting” defence that most of the people who are in the files have come up with.

@amanda we're all very good at constructing arguments that justify almost anything that align with our feelings (be it love or safety). So it does not hurt to feel some empathy and sympathy.

However, I do agree, he should've known better. And he should (he does for sure) know that anything he does will be biased even if there are no explicit requests. It's hard to speak up against a powerful person (IRL) and almost impossible if they put food on your table. Basic knowledge...

@sigismundninja yeah I mean, I would probably have talked myself into taking money from some trash monster because everyone with that amount of money is, but this guy (whom I’ve never heard of before) seems to have also hung out with Epstein which to me is the much worse crime.
