I think what he meant to say is it will boost the profits of gas suppliers.
@RupertBBare Probably would have been cheaper to subsidize gas users to transition to electricity AND to put solar panels on their roofs.
@RupertBBare Also, why is the levy being imposed on ELECTRICITY users when it's a GAS terminal? If we are to have a gas terminal (not saying I support it), shouldn't the levy be on GAS users, which of course would include gas-using power generators?
@98Percent If I were being cynical, I'd day they want electricity users to subsidize gas so people don't phase out their gas appliances as quickly
@RupertBBare if I was being even more cynical I’d say the current coalition parties are heavily subsidised in various ways by the fossil fuel industry.
