@dustcircle why is it a dealbreaker? didn't know it is disabled here but the real-time local feed isn't something you'd be able to follow on mastodon.social anyway, you can always go to an instance that does have it enabled.

It's also not like Bluesky has this feature.

Did you consider choosing another instance? mastodon.social is a bit too big, so it's a good idea to take a look at other instances. I've never seen an instance that was restricted in this way.
