#animangafoundit seeing as we're sharing our other favourite "endings" already, I'll jump in here with my also-rans. I did say a week or two ago that I'd have trouble picking just one if we had to choose endings, so sorry in advance if I'm posting a few ;)

First up is one I've mentioned in my #RandomAnimeMusic tag before. The ending for Gundam Gquuuuuux has one of my favourite songs, and some great visuals of Machu and Nyaan chilling in a room. Did I mention the song?

Otaku Elf was such a great show, and the ending had a wonderful blend of real life backgrounds overlaid with the animation models of Elda and Koito. The music by Cody Lee is the icing on the cake (please check out the full version, where the anime ED only starts around halfway through the song with the female vocals)
#animangafoundit
Onimai remains one of my favourite shows ever, with a perfectly balanced blend of comedy and ecchi, but still full of heart. The ending animation is just sublime, with so much attention to detail. I love Mahiro's school friends doing their side-to-side goofy dance in the background at the 55s mark, and there was really no need to make that pizza look so good!
#animangafoundit
Makiene had three ED's- one sung by each main female lead, but Anna's cover of Love 2000 is my standout version. Again, I love the real life locations overlaid with the animation characters, and again, the song is what you kids would call a "banger"
#animangafoundit
City: The Animation didn't hold back on the quality at all throughout the series, but the claymation ending was so much fun to watch. The little critters travelling to watch the sunset look so cute and squishy, I could just watch them all day!
#animangafoundit
Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings In Russian / Roshidere was another show with a different ending each episode, but the cover of Yui's "CHE.R.RY" was my favourite. Relatively simple in the visuals, it still oozes style, and what a great choice of song.
#animangafoundit
We all remember the Chika dance, but we also forget that it was an ending sequence. Not much else to say, really, except that it's just infinitely watchable and meme-able.
#animangafoundit
And really, I can't let this go without mentioning Bocchi The Rock. Another show with multiple ending songs, they're all great, and they all share the same chibi style. "Distortion" is my favourite Kessoku Band song, and this ED has been the source of my profile pic for almost the entire time I've been on this platform ;)
#animangafoundit

@BongoMcnulty As much as I love the message and animation and songs and raw, realistic emotion of Girls Band Cry, Bocchi's songs have always landed just slightly better with me. They're just... a little easier to listen to and understand. Sorta the difference between K-On!'s fast harsh ops and it's slightly more paced EDs...

When "Distortion" goes into that rhythmic part with the hand clap animation it is just so good. The cutesy animation is a lot of fun, too. :)

@Ragashingo I loved GBC, but yeah, apart from the incredibly good opening song "Wrong World", I've not been compelled to check out any more of Togenashi Togeari's songs (If I'm missing out on anything, please let me know!). Kessoku Band's songs have been written by some of the best J-rock bands out there, so their musical output has been on constant rotation on my playlists.

@BongoMcnulty

I'd say the GBC songs are just as cleverly written. I've bought them all and I very much like them in the moment tied to their stunning animation. They're just... harsher... in sound compared to BTR's. They come from a place of anger rather than social isolation.

The one I am most likely to listen to is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz-MAr3YPEA because it represents a real shift in the band's sound. It's still Togenashi Togeri, but it is more optimistic and upbeat in both lyrics and feel.

@Ragashingo totally added to the playlist :) thank you!

@Ragashingo @BongoMcnulty Bocchi Bocchi Bocchi Bocchi BOCCHI BOCCHI BOCCHI BOCCHICCHIBIBOCHIBBIO…

—ahem—

S2 when? 🤔

Ep8 leapt almost to the top of my favorite musical scenes in all anime almost immediate. (Only the medley from Kids on the Slope and the full regionals performance in Eupho S2E5 rank higher.)

One of the only ones I can listen to “in album form” basically in full and at any time.

But it is “That Band” that crushes it hardest, and I am often forced to absorb it in its purest form as part of the episode.

@cthellis @Ragashingo have you checked out some of the other Kessoku Band albums? Anything with Ryo on lead vocals is well worth your time ("Planet" is a non-anime song that blows me away every time!)

@BongoMcnulty @Ragashingo I grabbed what's on streaming, but if other stuff is sneaking through, I will go on the hunt!
@cthellis @Ragashingo the Kirara Tribute album is also worth a listen, if only to hear the re-imagining of some other classic anime songs. Kessoku Band performing songs from K-On, Yurucamp and Is The Order A Rabbit? Are huge fun

@BongoMcnulty @cthellis Music is weird for me, because outside an especially catchy song here or there I don't really attach to songs by themselves. I need something, an episode, or scene, or even just an interesting moment in real life, to care about them.

I think the one Bocchi song I really enjoyed even though it wasn't in the anime was hitoribocchi tokyo. It's just got this great feel that I couldn't help play on repeat!

@Ragashingo @cthellis another good Kessoku Band choice!
On a side note, I totally respect where your music choices come from. Music is such a powerful thing, and it affects people differently. In my 20's I worked for a big record chain, and I was exposed to so many different types of music. It taught me that music snobs can be the worst, and that if I liked something, then as far as I'm concerned, it's good music. Just enjoying what you want in the way that you want to is all that counts!
@BongoMcnulty I can watch this every day and never get tired of it!
@fujiwara
Chika is love.
Chika is life.
@BongoMcnulty Ohh. Nice, unique color palette!
@BongoMcnulty Was going to post the Alya endings as one of my alternates. Each of the endings were covers sung by the seiyuu which is pretty cool.
@Tatsumeg every one of those endings was great!

@BongoMcnulty The Makiene EDs were amazing. All the more so for how the used a lot more than bog standard animation techniques.

Cameras with actual painted animation cells. Real life water color cutouts. Etc. Stuff you don't see much of outside some of Bocchi the Rock's crazier scenes.

Definitely love all three endings!

@Ragashingo the only one I could pass over was Lemon-chan's ending. I loved the spacesuit visuals, but the song was the weakest of the three. Chika's ending didn't have the strongest visuals, but her cover of another Yui song (see my Roshidere post) is arguably a better version than the original, and made for a solid ED sequence.
@BongoMcnulty I had to go check the frame rate on that ED... it's crazy! It felt like someone on YouTube posting a 60FPS UHD BLAH BLAH BLAH version... but yeah, it really is animated that smoothly! Very fun animation done very well!
@Ragashingo it's like, man you're just picking up a cat! Chill!
@Ragashingo the OP is great, too, but I didn't include it last week, since it's a little bit too salacious in a way that could easily be misinterpreted.
@BongoMcnulty Also a personal fave, in my Apple music library courtesy of the library-based "Freegal" service which grants you a fixed number of DRM-free music downloads per week per library card and this song is there, as are many anime related J-Rock and J-Pop songs including many from the MSG franchise.
