Indicators & Strategies - Reflections on Financial Concepts and Terminology.

In finance, everyone uses the same indicators (MA, MACD, etc.), but we reach different conclusions. Why is that?

This question, combined with my experience developing indicators, made me realize:

Maybe what we call "indicator" should actually be called "strategy generators",

Just like I once realized that a "scanner" is really more of a "researcher".

So what's the difference between an indicator and a strategy?
