@TransitBiker how so? We simply redirect users to their own home server, we don't store or otherwise track anything besides server domains + the software they run.

When you use this, everything happens in your browser, and we will support native intents to open this in the app of your choosing, without having to lookup your server.

I'm not sure how privacy would be an issue, please do explain.

@dansup i can already follow anyone on the fediverse, thanks — unless the admins here have blocked them, in which case (since this is a well-run server) it was with good reason.

sounds like another money-making scam to me.

red flags for me:
- this will let you do [thing you can already do but people are confused about]!
- just put your data on our one little server here! (exactly what the fediverse is *not*)

We don't track or store any PII, profile data or any user content, we simply redirect users to their own server using the Follow Button profile url.

@fishidwardrobe I think you misunderstand the purpose of this.

The idea is to make it easy to share your account in a way that supports people to follow you from other servers.

There is no money involved, or any type of monetary restrictions, its simply just an extension of public protocols wrapped up in an easy to use service.

that's called "the fediverse". either you're silly enough to try to sell fish water, or it's a con.

anyone° can already follow me from any° server. all they have to do is search for my name, or any hashtags i use.

°blocking notwithstanding. will this make it easier for people who i've blocked to read my posts?
