#Nightclubs never made that much money from drinks and tickets even in the 1990s/00s - they were propped up by laundered #drugs money and other activities of OCGs (organised crime groups)!

Society stopped tolerating this around 10-20 years ago (as the NHS, Social Services and other public services ended up picking up the pieces of #addiction and #DUI), hence why there's been a decline in clubbing outside of big cities with good public transport, although keeping folk safe on the streets *outside* the venues is also an issue..
