This will be a long thread about whether or not I need a new camera to start taking more pictures again and generally return to enjoying photography like I did some decades ago. So prepare to be bored, as it is mainly intended for a small audience: myself. But any hints and opinions are highly appreciated! #photography #gearaquisitionsyndrome /1
Wow, it only took me 180 days to continue this thread about #gearaquisitionsyndrome in #photography 🤦‍♂️ Ok, let’s get to it: I don’t take as many pictures anymore as I used to and would like to. To be honest, most photos are nowadays taken with my phone. I tend to tell myself a new camera would fix that (temporarily). But I honestly know better. Currently I own: a Nikon D750 with some old AF lenses (the usual primes and a 70-200/2.8, mostly I use the 50/1.4 which renders really nice)…
…a Fuji x100t without LCD (water damage) and a lot of analog stuff (Bronica ETRS, SQ-A, Kiev 88, F4, FM,…). The thing is: I love taking pictures with the medium format cameras. Slowing down, using the waist level finder etc. But I don’t enjoy developing anymore, and I don’t have a decent scanner for negatives larger than 35mm. Sending them off to be developed and scanned is somehow not appealing to me. Don’t know why.
So I‘ve been window-shopping for a used retro digital medium format, Phase One and similar. Even though I know it doesn’t make any sense. I know some of you have been there, any help is really appreciated 😬
I had a few cameras in my days that I regret selling. First and foremost my Fujifilm X-Pro1. Also the Mamiya 6, even though I barely used it. And not to forget my Leica MD, the only Leica I ever owned 😭
