I like this quote from Travis Alabanza's None of the Above: 'If transness is working correctly, it is pushing for a world where anyone can express themselves in any way and not be deserving of violence: that no expression of any self becomes a reason why someone may incite harm.' We all need this.

I also got a lot of of @[email protected]'s latest essay, on the 'marked vs. unmarked' mindset, and also the idea of 'bottom-up' organising, in the sense of emphasising the parallels between different forms of marginalisation. So much rests on marking people 'other'. youtu.be/xiU-G0mTYVY?...

The right wing, especially the far right (currently in power in the USA and shaping politics in Britain and elsewhere, too) is obsessed with dehumanising whoever they identify as 'other'. That needs to be resisted on every front, by whatever means fit the task. Always. bsky.app/profile/joce...

We can't win without celebrating what we're fighting for. We fight because diversity makes humans so much more interesting, because there is so much joy to be found in things that some people try to tear down because they don't understand them, and because we all NEED to be allowed to be who are.
