I still love listening to this album after more than 35 years, but every time "Chocolate Girl" comes on I hear my friend David's big sister Alison pouring on the big-sister scorn about the chorus lyrics. 😆

Shortly afterwards we left to travel to the Julian Cope concert at the Dominion, in Town.

@FourT4 I haven’t listened to this album in years. Yesterday I saw a post on Insta by Emily Barker who said she was supporting Deacon Blue on their current tour of Australia. Between the two of you I have just grabbed the album to listen to next.

@FourT4 Different track on Raintown but lyric-related. I was amused to read that Lorraine McIntosh discovered that she had sung the wrong lyrics to Dignity for 30 years.

‘I’d been singing the wrong word for 30 years’: Deacon Blue on how they made Dignity

‘It’s become a sort of folk song. It’s played at weddings and funerals. Dundee United play it when we win. I’ve met people who’ve told me, “I was a worker for the council for 20 years” – just like the guy in the song’

@steveroyle I have always been sure it's "set it up" on the album, and Ricky Ross is taking the mickey 😆
