Thinking about, I'm guessing the justification behind this is inhibiting scrappers like Anna's Archive et al. Though probably really because of adblockers inhibiting tracking.

Supposedly we're doing a soft launch on the 9th. Not telling the public while we see how awful the bugs are, but will request stuff as needed.

I knew they were way underestimating the time when they first announced it. Our so glad system took as long as their initial estimate long to hammer it out while running in parallel with the old system.
They apparently did tests with my system, (among others,) and a week or two later they were like, "uhh..." and delayed it for months.
I doubt we'll hear anything about it, but it would be nice if they spoke at ALA with like, "101 ways you can fuck up a migration."
...I do kinda want to hammer their system now too.
