So #tonight I'll be talking at the #PvIB about #LeavingBigTech. Will be the first time speaking not to a group of opensource enthusiasts, but to people from businesses of all sorts including rather big ones. Which is great, they need to be inspired to change too! But also a bit more nerve wrecking..

Wish me luck  !

@Cambion #PvIB are security enthousiasts, too!
You have to be a bit passionate if you want to spend your evening in such a group.
They just can be a bit... defensive and rigid about frameworks and auditable standards perhaps.
Enjoy!
@Cambion
How were they? :)

@Joris
Haha I've been visiting the PvIB for a bit. I'm a member myself 😉. I'm also a security officer for a not so small company, so auditable standards are my daily life too 🙃. But no reason we can't do that without Big Tech! Still, as a techy it's not the same as speaking on a FOSS conference

Saw you already liked my follow up, but in short: it went good. Got some compliments, seem to have inspired some of them to do some things, as well as got some opportunities to share the message further

@Cambion
Ohhhh, if you know them, then their enthusiasm shouldn't be a surprise 😏
But, fair, I can imagine not all members in a trade organisation have an overlap with visitors of FOSS events.

(didn't mean to imply you are unfamiliar with auditable standards, it's just... my experience with PvIB-members has been shaped by discussing security standards 🙃)

@Joris No worry, didn't take it negative. More meant I too am one of those people 🤣
