It feels bad that people love to hate child rapists but hate to love rape survivors.

We're "damaged goods" - broken, used, used up, no longer useful. Our existence is uncomfortable. And thus we get objectified yet again. It feels like being used as a pawn in debates.

Please, be mindful when posting about csa and rape cases. Consider putting content notes on it. We survivors are real people who really use the internet. Some of us really need cns to brace ourselves before reading even really good, informative and supportive material concerning the worst trauma we've been through.

We want to be in solidarity with our siblings who were also abused or raped as children and teens. And that's hard when we face barriers to even read social media posts about the topic.

I really appreciate it when people are thoughtful. Thank you.

Content notes DO help. They DO make a difference. Knowing a blow is about to come, I can brace myself. I can read the post and even reshare it and still enjoy the rest of my day. Without the content note, it hits me with my guard down and it feels like a kick to the emotional balls.

*grumbles* in general, when you're upset about wrongs, make a habit of considering the perspective of the VICTIMS, not only the perpetrators. Yes, we need to do something about them. But not by verbally and rhetorically revictimising the victims.

It's like they were cast as non-people by whoever wronged them, and then well meaning people come along and try to oppose the wrongs, while in their minds, the non-people are still non-people. Poor, beautiful, innocent non-people who shouldn't be wronged, but non-people nonetheless.

If you pay attention, you can see this dynamic play out everywhere on basically any topic.
