Is there any chance that mastodon.social could support federation with IPv6-only instances in the near future? This would improve federation for everyone. Thanks for your time!

Valid point. The mastodon.social instance already seems to support inbound IPv6: https://en.internet.nl/site/mastodon.social/3738895/#siteipv6
However, for actual interaction and federation via IPv6 outbound support is needed as well and the latter indeed seems to be missing. Hopefully they can fix this.

This is a reason why we are considering switching to another distribution, but this requires significant work and we have a lot of things to juggle right now
