Yup. If she didn't cause damage and paid (or will pay) for the items, which crime has she really committed?

I can still remember my mom taking me grocery shopping. I rode in the cart and she gave me a box of animal crackers from the shelf to snack on. At the checkout counter, she'd give the clerk the (half) empty package and pay for it. That was about 50 years ago, but I think things aren't all that different today.
