Admit One DailyTom Hanks’ name may be above the title, but Joe Dante was the real draw. Like Sam Raimi, he was one of those directors that my film-loving friends and I gravitated towards. Apparently this originally had a much darker ending until Hanks was cast — would have loved to have seen that version too.
