While I genuinely enjoy using Linux, I just cannot make a full switch to exclusively using that OS. One of the primary tools I utilize for both sermon prep and academic work is Logos Bible Software, which doesn’t have full functionality on Linux (no matter what work arounds I have tried). I wish Logos would offer a Linux version, but I don’t foresee that ever happening. And so I remain on a mainstream OS.

@RevEricBurrowsStone no idea if either of these are any good or even unknown to you, but here is what I found:

@RobertoArchimboldi I appreciate you thinking of recommending this. However, having been a Logos user for a long time now, I have sunk thousands of dollars into my Logos Library and feature sets, so I am not willing to just walk away from it 😅
@RevEricBurrowsStone I figured that it would be something like that. I was mostly intrigued to see if anything existed. I take it that you have tried to run it under wine
@RevEricBurrowsStone also why does Christ criticise Martha, we need to eat before we can study, and why say 'Martha' twice? This has been eating away at me for ages. Sorry to ask, but I don't know any theologians

(Sorry, it was just too obvious a joke!)

@RevEricBurrowsStone I hope they will make a Linux version! Linux has become an important platform.

A suggestion to make it work on Linux: I can see that they have an Android version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.logos.androidlogos&pli=1

I dont know if the android app is the same as the pc application? if it is the same then you can install Waydroid on Linux, which is android compatibility in a container (not virtual machine) and then run it there 🙂

@anders Thank you for reaching out and sharing. And yes, the Android app is nice! Unfortunately, this option doesn't have all the features of the desktop app.
@RevEricBurrowsStone youre welcome! I see. Im sorry to hear that. Hopefully there will be an option in the future 🙂
