so… I’ve harvested some kumquats—omg, they’re delicious— and I’ve been leaving some apple scraps for the hungry Bulbul. I assume she’s eating them as they disappear every time.

🤔💭(ヒヨドリは羽をブルブルて振るわせるからBulBulっていうんだね、きっと… 違うのかナ)

Bulbul the bird’s name likely originates from their action of shaking their wings? I could be wrong tho.

(The sound of the action described in Japanese {Asian?} language is “bul-bul” or “brr brr”— when a dog shakes the wet fur after a bath, we say “bul bul” as well. If that makes sense to y’all.)

The Bulbul realizes I leave the apple scraps for her. She showed up for the second time while I was watering the garden. Smart bird.

Later in the afternoon, I saw her sitting in front of the apple scraps, contemplating for a minute, then swallowed a piece and flew away.
