Created this video for Pixelfed- then I found out that the platform seems to support photos only. So you can enjoy it here. See you soon in Hannover & Berlin! #punkfluencer #socialmediapro
pixelfed does support videos.
The problem is the encoding.
especially iOS encoding...
I hope @[email protected] will have time to work on those things soon
@joergi Ah! Thx. Do you know which formats are supported?
@schuetter was läuft da für Musik in dem
Video?
@jan … But Alive :)
@schuetter ah, deshalb kam mir das nicht bekannt vor. Da kam ich irgendwie nie rein 🫣
@schuetter haha, das ist uns auch schon passiert. So‘n Kack, ey! 😄
@schuetter it support videos but need to be less than 15 mb and most people do not care about videos on it. A ton of people left IG to pixelfed becaude videos was forced on them to begin with
@hiphopheaven I cannot see how. On iPhone I cannot access any videos from my camera roll from within the Pixelfed app. I do not see a way of changing this. Also tried changing the scope of photo access in the native iOS settings, but Pixelfed does not appear there at all. Converting the video to mpg and sharing it from the native Files app is impossible as well. Same applies to adding the Pixelfed app to the native sharing menu. I am a bit lost, probably need to try accessing Pixelfed via browser.
@hiphopheaven Eventually it worked. Converted the iOS video from .mov to .mp4 and then uploaded it via desktop browser. It appears cut off in the iOS Pixelfed app, but it is somehow shown. Whatever: sharing videos is no fun. But as you said: probably it shouldn’t be fun. We got Loops for video I suppose. #loops
