@christineburns I wish I could believe that thinking was any part of #AnasSarwar's politics.
He is a well-educated, articulate, personable sort of man, and he speaks clearly. But his politics is empty, devoid of any enfuring theme, always sounding as if it was this morning's bright idea.
This trans prison stuff is transparently an unresearched, unconsulted, attention-seeking wheeze. Pathetic ... and scary to watch how casually a minority can be thrown under the bus.
@2legged When JK Rowling was doing her holocaust denial thing, when she was confronted with the Nazis' persecution of Magnus Hirschfeld, she started making excuses about why they were right to do it.
Days after this, Sarwar decided to redeclare that Rowling was 'reasonable,' but to date he has so far failed to give the public the explanation he quite reasonably owes them as to precisely what it was about saying the Nazis were right that he found so appealing.
Desperate.
Mind you, I thought the sNP had already caved on this, de facto. I would be happy to have misremembered.
But, yeah, not a scooby of Anas becoming FM.
