This time, we went to Round 1's Southland Mall branch in Hayward. So far this is the only R1 we've seen to have its arcade games across two floors - in fact, the rhythm games are split across these two floors (most games on the upper floor, rhythm games on the bottom), making it about as close to the Japanese arcade "every floor is dedicated to a genre" experience we've seen.

For lunch, we went to Seafood City, a Filipine supermarket, and got some more traditional Filipine eats. There's a Jollibee there and while we don't necessarily
hate it, we just meme on it ever since that one time we went on a field trip with our old uni's Filipine American Student Association and after going to a bunch of plaes that were relevant to Pinoy American culture, we ended up at a Jollibee.

However, the community at SLM was lacking, so we went back, and went over to Eastridge to socialize with the more active community there and play some more rounds before heading home.

๐Ÿ’– Lately, we try to take public transit to Round 1 locations. We could drive, yes, and it's cheaper if only accounting for gas prices. But public transit allows us to relax while en route, since we're not in charge of the vehicle, and we don't have to worry about Fighting For Parking at our destination, especially in car-unfriendly areas like San Francisco. While public transit in the Bay Area is nowhere near as stellar as it is in, say, Japanese big metros, it's still a vital collection of infrastructure for those who cannot drive (no car, no license, don't have the mental health for it, etc.)

Though unfortunately because we live someplace where taking just public transit is impractical, we have to utilize park-and-ride lots.
I don't like having to pay for parking, but at least at Milpitas BART it's "only" $2.50 instead of $5.50 at Caltrain.

Usually, we will take trains to get to Southland Mall or Stonestown Galleria. But for Eastridge we just drive because public transit, especially railed transit, in San Jose is so sparse and unreliable that we may well just drive instead.

๐Ÿ’– Related foods that we got during our adventure.

Tram Cream Coffee makes some pretty solid Vietnamese-style coffee, I enjoy their egg coffee a lot for how creamy and smooth it is.

We later came back to the same shopping plaza for Olioli, a local Hawaiian BBQ joint. Despite the chicken katsu sandwich being just under 7 USD, it's actually pretty filling by Bay Area quantity-to-cost standards.
