while taking some photos of the fungi above, I spotted a big yellow Physarum polycephalum slime mould on the underside of a felled tree trunk, partially covering the bracket fungus growing on it.
some of these close-ups turned out blurry, but they show the slightly grim looking vein-like structure of the plasmodium
