Reflecting on last week's SolarpunkSunday by @DoomsdaysCW on grandmother building her own cobb house for relatively amall amount of money, I renew my interest in cobb building skills. I want my own home, sustainable, healthy and pleasant to live in. My job keeps me fed and housed but not much else, so no home buying for me. Options for the rest of us!!!

Can Community Land Trusts Solve the Housing Crisis?

Community land trusts are not just a tool to provide affordable housing, they can serve as catalysts for community stabilization, a source of pride and dignity, and so much more.

@BrambleBearSnoring Yeah, and some local, state and even federal building regulations make it even harder. I get that we need to have housing that's sound and safely built, but some places are sticklers and ridiculous! For instance, the place down the road from us has been a 2-unit, but for whatever reason, the code enforcement officer decided it needed to be a listed as a 1-unit. What was needed to make it a proper 2-unit? Shouldn't we be focused on creating more housing? Especially in close clusters (rather than spreading out into the woods and fields).
