The irony reading this on a Mastodon server which has no protection for user data at all and does not come with e2ee for private messages!

Or maybe is this the exact reason why EU officials love Mastodon?

No irony there. Does Mastodon advertise as a private E2EE service? No, so this misses the point. If you want a E2EE messenger, pick something else. Mastodon is a social networking software.
